In the Pain-Picture-Study, pictorial designs and the neurobiological substrates of pain experience in patients with somatoform pain disorder are investigated, whereby imaging procedures, measurement of stress parameters and content-analytical qualitative investigations of pictorial representations and interviews complement each other in a multimethodological study design.
This is an interdisciplinary project of the MSH Medical School Hamburg with the participation of the Clinic for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy, University Hospital Jena, the Institute for Philosophy, Psychoanalysis and Cultural Studies, IPPK, Berlin and the University Hospital Zurich.
