A center for study, teaching, research and care
The Interdisciplinary Research Laboratory (IRL) sees itself as a multifunctional competence center at the interface between sports science, human medicine, physiotherapy and neuroscience.
In the spacious premises at MSH's Kehrwiederspitze site - with a view of the inspiring city, the Port of Hamburg and the Elbphilharmonie concert hall - the labs create a research and application-oriented environment using an interdisciplinary concept.
High-quality equipment, modern technology and complex measuring devices are available to the team of scientists, lecturers and employees with concentrated expertise and know-how from all cross-sectional disciplines of sports science.
The Institute of Interdisciplinary Exercise Science and Sports Medicine finds optimal conditions here to research and develop health-preserving and performance-enhancing interventions for various target groups in a broad sports science context. Students and lecturers of the degree programs of the Department of Performance, Neuroscience, Therapy and Health use the labs to deepen and apply theory-based knowledge.
