As a cooperation partner of the UKE, the programme ›Strengthening Families‹, which has already been evaluated internationally and nationally, is being reviewed and researched in the context of a broad research programme of the BMBF with the participation of MSH. This family-based prevention programme has proven to be effective in preventingaddiction and behavioural problems in children and adolescents. The basis for further development is a growing literature showing that mindfulness-based exercises in family programmes can positively influence the mental health and development of children and adolescents.
The aim of the study is to examine whether the developmental and addiction-preventive effect of the program can be improved by additional mindfulness-based exercises ('Mindful Family Strengthening'). Due to the changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, online variants for both programs are being developed and evaluated.
