SMART-Injury Prevention

With almost 20 million runners in Germany, running is one of the most popular sports in the country. While it can have extensive positive effects on physical and mental health, injury rates remain high. The goal of the "Smart Injury Prevention" research project is to use wearable sensors and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to detect and thereby prevent potential running injuries at an early stage.
