From basic research to targeted interventions

Psychische Störungen können als Störungen biologischer und psychologischer Funktionen und Prozesse verstanden werden, die durch psychosoziale und neurobiologische Faktoren bedingt werden. Am Insitute for Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy (ICPP) verfolgen wir daher einen bio-psycho-sozialen Ansatz bei der Diagnose, Therapie und Prävention von psychischen Störungen. Dabei kombinieren wir klinische Grundlagenforschung mit klinischer Anwendungsforschung, um aus einem Verständnis der Entstehung und Veränderbarkeit psychischer Störungen und ihrer Prozesse eine Verbesserung von Diagnose, Behandlung und Prävention zu ermöglichen. Ein Grundsatz ist dabei die Wertschätzung für verschiedene wissenschaftlich anerkannte psychotherapeutische Verfahren und ihre unterschiedlichen Konzepte und erkenntnistheoretischen Zugänge.

Forschung

Wir verbinden klinische Grundlagenforschung mit klinischer Anwendungsforschung. In der klinischen Grundlagenforschung interessieren wir uns für die bio-psycho-sozialen Mechanismen verschiedener psychischer Störungen. In der klinischen Anwendungsforschung untersuchen wir diese Mechanismen im Rahmen der Diagnostik, Therapie und Prävention und wie psychische Störungen und Belastungen individuell erfasst, kommuniziert, bewältigt und verändert werden können. Die Lehr- und Forschungsambulanz stellt dabei eine wichtige Schnittstelle zwischen Forschung und Versorgung dar.

Klinisch-experimentelle Forschung
Unter kontrollierten Bedingungen werden grundlegende Merkmale und Mechanismen psychischer Symptome und Störungen untersucht.

Klinisch-neurobiologische Forschung
Es werden neurobiologische Faktoren bei der Diagnostik, Therapie und Prävention psychischer Symptome und Störungen untersucht.

Klinische Interventionsforschung
Auf der Basis der klinisch-experimentellen und klinisch-neurobiologischen Forschung werden neue Interventionen entwickelt und auf ihre Wirksamkeit und Wirkmechanismen untersucht.

Klinische Prozess- und Begleitforschung
Kultur- und verfahrensspezifische Aspekte psychotherapeutischer Interventionen unter Alltagsbedingungen werden qualitativ und quantitativ, multiperspektivisch, transdisziplinär und partizipativ untersucht.
