Continuously improving the safety of patients and health professionals
Our goal is to firmly anchor and continuously advance the safety of patients and health professionals in studies & teaching as well as in research, care & transfer.
Our research profile is interdisciplinary and interprofessional. Research work to improve patient and health professional safety can be developed by many different Bachelor's and Master's students (e.g. Advanced Nursing Practice, Rescue Management, Psychology, Medical and Health Education, Digital Health Management etc.) as well as by medical and psychology students in doctoral studies.
The development of a safety culture and an open approach to critical incidents is another research focus. We will also use simulation training (“Room of Safety”) to introduce our students to the topic of “Safety of Patients and Health Professionals” in a practical way.
The topic of planetary health also plays a major role in terms of patient safety. Initial thoughts on research projects in this area are currently under discussion.
