What happens after my first appointment?
After the first consultation your name will be put down on a waiting list. Without question, we do our very best to offer you a counselling place as fast as possible. Following this, we usually proceed with five additional test runs (probational period) during which you meet your counsellor. This time is meant for your counsellor to get a sound idea of your issues and background and to offer you relevant treatment procedures. Further, you can decide whether you wish to proceed with a psychotherapy treatment.
Following the probational period, where necessary, your counsellor can apply for coverage of treatment costs at your statuary or private health insurance or at government aid (Beihilfe). The review of the application usually takes 4-6 weeks. You will then receive feedback and information on how many hours of therapy will be covered by your health insurance.
Therapeutical sessions will follow, these usually take place on a weekly basis. The duration of the sessions largely depend on the chosen therapeutical procedures and your treatment requests.
