On June 22, 2017, Professor Henning Budde has been awarded an honorary doctorate (Dr.h.c.) by the Lithuanian Sports University (LSU), based on his excellent contributions to strengthen international collaborations, to advance scientific achievements and developments and to support early career researchers at LSU.
In the presence of the University rectorate and the deans of the Lithuanian Sports University, the prestigious accolade was awarded in a formal ceremony. In his acceptance speech, Henning Budde emphasized his strong feelings towards a peaceful and liberal European sense of togetherness.
The Lithuanian Sports University was founded in 1934 and is the only academic institute for sports sciences in Lithuania. Henning Budde is Professor for Sports Sciences and Research Methods at MSH Medical School Hamburg. He is also Professor at Reykjavik University in Iceland. His primary research interest is movement-based neurosciences.
