The annual ICF User Conference, from 12-13. April, 2018, is Germany’s main conference related to the International Classification of Functioning, Disabilities and Health (ICF) of the World Health Organization (WHO).
This year, for the first time, the two separate conferences on ICF and ICF-CY (ICF for children and youth) are being combined to one joint conference.
ICF is increasingly being used and applied in different fields of the health care sector, rehabilitation, early interventions and performance delivery for individuals with disabilities. The meaning of ICF in Germany has grown with the recently adopted and partially enforced National Participation Act (Bundesteilhabegesetz (BTHG)), as the BTHG explicitly refers to ICF. The suitability and areas of application of ICF are diverse and stretch from the communication with client of all age-groups to internal team communication and cross-sectoral measurements of certain ICF content.
The ICF User Conference targets all interested parties of any profession that
- Have an interest in ICF
- Use or intend to use ICF
- Want to report on their experiences using ICF
- Wish to get new insights and ideas
The aim of the conference is to inform about the different ICF usability and to promote its use. Herein, we focus on general questions on ICF usability and the immediate ICF use in specific fields of work.
The new ICF User Conference provides an interesting mixture of precise questions on ICF usability (primarily during workshops) and topics of general interests (plenary sessions). Further to this, a poster exhibition provides space and time for exchanging experiences and project ideas that are not covered elsewhere in the programme.
