10 Years of Medical School Hamburg - It’s only Rock’n’Roll

We celebrate the beginning of our anniversary celebrations with a ceremony in a personal atmosphere with friends, partners and companions. Together we would like to look back on the past 10 years and take a look into the future.

In the course of the celebrations, we will present our anniversary film, which we made together with students, for the first time.

This year's relaunched prom will be dedicated to the MSH anniversary and, of course, according to the motto »It's only Rock'n'Roll«.

What that means is: ball gown meets leather jacket, patent shoe meets studded belt. In the unique and thus different ambience of the former soap factory at the Harburg inland port, a »new« style ball with a rocky flair, two live bands and many other highlights awaits you.

MSH graduates from the 2019 summer and winter semesters are cordially invited by the university to the prom, which includes a champagne reception, buffet and drinks. MSH students and staff can purchase their admission ribbons for 25 Euro, the price for external guests is 50 Euro. Admission tapes are available for payment in cash from the student service at Großer Grasbrook and Harburger Binnenhafen now. Graduates should also pick up their admission ribbons in advance from the student service, as this is the only way to ensure admission on site. Please note that only a limited contingent is available.

According to the motto »It's only Rock'n'Roll« we play the legends of the Rock'n'Roll scene, which not only shaped and changed their time, they are also inspiring for our time over generations. Enjoy music, discuss the future, develop visions. Just drop by.

In line with the principle »we grow and grow together«, MSH has developed in an interdisciplinary and interprofessional manner. The POLi Day stands for »Problem-Oriented Learning in Interprofessional teams« and offers students the opportunity to develop solutions for health issues across all courses and to integrate the perspectives of different health care professions.

This event will be opened by Dr. Stefanus Snyman, POLi expert and project manager of the WHO Family of International Classifications Collaborating Centre (SAMRC).

An event of a different kind - by students for students, by the StuRa for you. On this evening, we students want to celebrate the anniversary together. Therefore, we have prepared a colorful program: Am Kaiserkai 1, over two floors of cinema, karaoke, workshops, various games, new contacts with snacks and drinks and much more awaits you.

The Sound-Workstation enables the exploration of sound with everyday objects. Which sounds and which acoustic qualities are hidden in objects that we use every day? Can the unknown be discovered in familiar things? Experiment with gelatine, water and ink. Sound out the blurs, depths and lengths of coincidence. Analyse impulse and effect.

To the Culture Day in the Department of Art, Society and Health

See what happens when every second counts. For 30 hours straight we make the experience of the everyday life of a fully functional intensive care unit tangible. You will gain exclusive insights into the responsible daily routine of doctors, rescue and nursing staff.

The various emergency scenarios are supported by impulse lectures on all aspects of emergency care and intensive care. In addition, you can become active and practice how to keep a clear head in an emergency during our resuscitation training.

MSH started with 136 students and has grown to over 2,800 students in 10 years. What does it look like behind the scenes at MSH today? On »Campus Day of Knowledge«, we open our doors to pupils, parents, students and other interested parties. This day is a perfect opportunity to visit the university's premises, let the colorful campus life have an effect on you and get in touch with professors, employees, students and graduates.

From 10 am to 4 pm we will present our study programs in designated theme rooms, there will be exciting lectures with top-class speakers, such as the psychologist Prof. Dr. Gerd Gigerenzer, further we will illuminate current research topics as well as interactive perceptual phenomena that bring science to life.
