Biography

Simon Schneider is a graduate of the interdisciplinary nanoscience degree program at the University of Hamburg and graduated in 2015 with a master's degree. During his studies he worked as a student assistant in research projects of the Faculty of Physics, where biochemical processes were investigated by means of resonant Raman spectroscopy. As a Ph.D. student at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, he focused on the synthesis of metal-semiconductor hybrid complexes, examining the interactions between CdSe/CdS nanorods and gold nanoparticles, especially with regard to fluorescence properties. At the beginning of the winter semester 2019/2020, Simon Schneider works as a research associate for chemistry in the human medicine study program, especially in the management of internships.

Teaching Activities

During his time as a research associate at the University of Hamburg, Simon Schneider supervised the basic internship in physical chemistry. He accompanied the students of chemistry and pharmacy in their experiments in the laboratory and imparted necessary knowledge in seminars. He also supervised research internships of undergraduate and graduate students.
