Biography

Kristin Prehn studied Psychology at the Humboldt University Berlin (1997-2003). In 2008, she completed her doctoral studies at the Berlin Neuroimaging Centre and worked in a range of research institutions with neuroscientific methods. Since 2013, she was academic staff in the Clinic for Neurology at the Berlin Charité where she carried out clinical studies on novel treatment approaches and for the prevention of neuro-degenerative diseases. These approaches include cognitive training programs, lifestyle modifications as well as non-invasive brain stimulation.

Since April 2018, Kristin Prehn is academic staff at MSH with focus on teaching in General Psychology.

Teaching

Since 2013, Kristin Prehn has taught into the Master degree “Mind and Brain” at the Humboldt University Berlin. Here, she focused on teaching a deeper understanding of psychological and neurocognitive research methods and on the structured conduct of research projects.

Topics of cognitive and affective neurosciences (moral decision-making, interaction of emotional and cognitive processes, emotion regulation through language, memory and executive functions)

Training and support of skills in lifelong learning

Methods: structural and functional nuclear spin tomography, pupillometry, transcranial direct current stimulation
