Kim Fricke studied medical biology at the Radboud University Nijmegen and subsequently cognitive neuroscience at the Donders Institute for Brain, Behavior and Cognition in the Netherlands, which he completed with a Master of Science degree. During his studies, Mr. Fricke explored the interaction of the scale error phenomenon with category understanding and inhibitory control in two-year-old children among others and led the research own journal »Proceedings of the Master's Programs Cognitive Neuroscience«. Furthermore, he completed an internship in the longitudinal study »Police in Action«, where he gained his first experience in stress research. After successfully graduating, he worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Molecular Medicine II at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, where he was involved in the application processes for external research funding and the design of a module for the Molecular Biomedicine Master's program among other responsibilities. Mr. Fricke currently works as a research associate at the MSH and undertakes his doctoral studies in the DFG-funded project »Stress und die Balance zwischen Annäherungs- und Vermeidungsverhalten: Die Rolle von Noradrenalin und Cortisol« (equiv. Stress and the Balance between Approach and Avoidance Behavior: The Role of Norepinephrine and Cortisol) under the auspices of Dr. Susanne Vogel.
