Biography

Charlotte Wittgens studied psychology in Hamburg and Hagen and is currently working on her doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Dusseldorf on the topic »Zusammenhang von Diabetes und Depression – Depressive Symptome nach unentdecktem oder bekanntem Diabetes.« (equiv. The connection between diabetes and depression - depressive symptoms after undetected or known diabetes.) After completing her graduate studies, Ms. Wittgens was a research associate at the Institute for Health Services Research and Health Economics of the German Diabetes Center and was actively involved in various projects on the topic of diabetes and mental illness.

She has taught the module Psychological Research Methods at the European University of Applied Sciences Hamburg and supervised various modules in the Bachelor's and Master's programs in Psychology as a tutor. Since October 2018, Ms. Wittgens is a research associate in a project funded by the German Research Foundation at the Department of Clinical Psychology, under the direction of Prof. i. Vetr. Dr. Sebastian Trautmann.
