Biography

Following her studies on painting at the Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences, Sandra Freygarten completed further education modules to become psycho-drama manager at the Psychodramainstitut Münster. Free-lance artist and tutor activities in different artistic disciplines of The Arts. From 2008-2011 artistic staff in the Verbundvorhaben Kundien, customer service as art and co-author of the book »Kunst als Handeln – Handeln als Kunst, Was Unternehmen und die Berufswelt von Kunst lernen können«. From 2012-2015 Professor for Art Transfer in the institute for philosophical and aesthetical education at the Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences. Here, she works as visiting professor since 2015. She works at the interplay of art, economy and science in teaching, further education modules and as master- and teaching coach in DGFC. Since September 2015, Professor in the Department of Art, Society and Health at MSH Medical School Hamburg. Furthermore she works as an art coach in a number of organisations and industry enterprises.

Teaching

Teaching at the Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences as Professor focussing on art as a principle of action within conception, specification, conduct and coordination of art modules in the bachelor and master of business administration and art in societal fields of work such as cultural pedagogical tutor experiences to teach art in the bachelor and master degree of The Arts. She also teaches a number of further education modules.

Research Focus

Sandra Freygarten’s research interest is in the area of using art as a tool for skill development in the professional education, artistic interventions in coaching, art analogue work in the banking industry, as well as the topic of »Dienstleistung als Kunst – Wege zu innovativer und professioneller Dienstleistungsarbeit«.
