Biography

Professor Klaus Fenchel studied medicine at the University of Marburg. Following the completion of his doctoral degree he commenced his specialist degree at the University Hospital of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University of Frankfurt/Main. Here, he started to develop and grow his international network with research experts from the field which culminated in a research period abroad at the M D Anderson Cancer Center. He then became medical director for hematology/ oncology at the tumor center of the Hannover Medical School and was managing medical director of the department hematology/oncology at the University Hospital of Giessen. Here, he held a C2 lecturer position, which adds to the value of research and teaching experiences in his career. Following the development of a hematological division in a university teaching hospital at the University of Göttingen, he was appointed medical director of the medical clinic in a teaching hospital of the University of Jena. Here, he conceptualized the field of oncology and palliative care until 2010. Since October 2010, he is medical director in the hematological clinic in Cuxhaven.

Teaching

Professor Klaus Fencer has held national and international presentations and lectures in the field of hematology/oncology and in palliative care. This includes presentations and publications on research findings in line with lymphomtherapy. He also focuses on quality of life in patients through targeted management of side effects.
