Biography

Following his studies in law, Professor Hans-Georg Hahn completed his doctoral studies with Professor Diederichsen in product liability law. Following his studies, he carried out work as assistant of the Chief Executive of a German Health Insurance fund. Since 1991, he is lawyer and since 1997 he works as tax consultant. In 1993, the accepted a position in the law- and fiscal department of Arthur Andersen in Hannover. Since 2000 he is employed by the Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH (Legal Practice). Since July 1st, 2010 he is head of the Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH (Legal Practice) in collaboration with Dr. Markus Sengpiel as Managing Partner.

Teaching

Since his acceptance of the role of Professor, Hahn is involved in teaching in the field of law and fiscal policies. He was prior involved in presenting on corporate- and civil law and on the legal development in both fields. He also gives talks in the field of national and international fiscal law for young lawyers and tax consultants among entrepreneurs and in expert panels.

Research Focus

With regards to content of his scientific and practical work, Professor Hahn focusses on judicial and fiscal requirements of the acquirement, dispositions and restructuring of private and public enterprises. Since approximately ten years, he focuses on enterprises of the health care sector, with special emphasis on hospitals but also nursing institutions and enterprises of medical technology. As such, part of his judicial practical and research work is commercial law (GmbH-Recht), stock corporation law and group law and also the business law of the public sector and the related questions and issues on employment law.
