After completion of his high-school diploma in 1988, Dirk Hohmann completed a vocational training to become a nurse and held leading positions at the vocational academy of the DBfK Merseburg.

In 2001, Dirk Hohmann became Medical Controller at the Clinic Bergmannstrost in Halle/Saale and was responsible for the organization and management of the medical controlling unit of the clinic. He further was held responsible for the introduction of a comprehensive digital patient health record. Since his appointment to head of department of Medical Controlling, he not only managed the accounting section of the clinic, but he was also held responsible for the guidance and process optimization of all clinics. At the same time, Dirk Hohmann undertook a vocational course of study of business administration at the Merseburg University of Applied Sciences and successfully graduated with the degree Diplomkaufmann (German Diploma in Business Administration at a University of Applied Sciences).

Since 2010, Dirk Hohmann works as medical controller at the Werner Wicker Klinik in Bad Wildungen - a specialized clinic for the paraplegic and spinal diseases (German Centre for Scoliosis).

In 2001 (Anmerkung Siefken:bitte überprüfen, ich denke, es heißt hier 2010 statt 2001), Dirk Hohmann became member of the German Society for Medical Controlling (DGfM) and is chairman and board member of the regional association central Germany.
