The scientific literature on female football players has grown in recent years. Several authors have reported epidemiological data on injuries in female football players, and additional information is available from injury prevention projects. Few studies investigated physiological performance variables and their changes in recent yers, mental health and long-term health consequences. However, to the best of our knowledge no study has yet evaluated the sport-specific living and training conditions of elite female football players.
Aims of the project are to evaluate training and playing conditions, medical support and physical complaints of players participating in the FIFA Women´s World Cup Canada 2015TM.
