Our guiding priciples - What is important to us

Transdisciplinarity

With the services that we offer, we are responding to the growing need for new qualification profiles in the health sector, because the challenges in interdisciplinary healthcare can only be tackled with highly qualified staff. That is why studying at MSH has a medical, scientific and transdisciplinary focus: The courses are designed so that each MSH graduate is prepared for cooperation between all spheres of work in the healthcare sector that spans all occupational categories. Cooperation between the disciplines is also supported within the university itself: There are overlapping departments and a transdisciplinary team consisting of health economists, psychologists, lawyers, doctors, social scientists, health scientists and scientists.

Innovation, quality and a broad network

A range of courses that places high demands on quality and that will still be innovative in years to come means a great deal to us: That is why all of our courses are accredited and continually evaluated. At the same time, we cooperate with wellknown companies to develop and consistently redevelop study formats for health and medicine that are relevant to the labour market. It goes without saying that our professors are highly qualified. Using our competency network will simultaneously boost your career opportunities considerably.

Motivation and talent instead of numerus clausus

Motivation, performance and talent matter more to us than the average grade on your school-leaving certificate. That is why we ensure that the students play an active part and why we take attendance, punctuality and discipline seriously. At the same time, we nurture the strengths and talents of achievement- minded and forward-thinking students, regardless of their economic opportunities and social or cultural background.

Open door policy

With us, the doors are open: Managers and professors take the time to answer your questions and are always there for you. Small groups in seminars and individual support are very important to us. At our university, you cooperate actively, instead of being a passive consumer. From the first day of training, we see our students as part of an interdisciplinary team.

The feeling of togetherness

As a private university, it is particularly important to us that our students are happy. Which is why we create a unique studying and working atmosphere with the campus in Hamburg's Hafencity. At the same time, internal events, trips and meetings make for a vibrant university life and open cooperation.

Family-friendliness

Our part-time courses give you the opportunity to study further whilst combining your studies, work and family. You will spend several block weekends (Mondays to Thursdays) per semester studying at MSH and use the rest of the time for selfstudy. The following courses are available to students who are working: Advanced Nursing Practice, Transdisciplinary Early Intervention, Medical Controlling, Medical Education, Ergotherapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Intermedial Art Therapy, Coaching, Expressive Arts in Social Transformation and Rescue Management.
